Richard Becker CFP ®, CPWA ®, AIF ®
Richard Becker began his career in the financial services industry in 1995. He started his own firm to focus on helping people prepare financially for retirement. Over the years, he has helped thousands of educators, families and small business owners throughout Southeast Texas.
Richard’s goal is to help clients find their financial potential. With the heart of a teacher, he helps make sense of investments with straight-forward conversation and regular financial literacy communication.
Each consultation begins with a discussion about the client’s needs so he can help build a retirement plan suited to their situation. Clients in managed programs can expect that their accounts will be regularly monitored and adjusted by product fund managers for changing market conditions. His main office is in LaCenterra in Katy, but he also works in Beaumont with Lamar University.
Richard worked with the Japanese government during the Bush and Clinton administrations. He has consulted with the family businesses of Al Gore and George Bush. He has also led hundreds of business initiatives for the likes of Burger King, Culligan Water and the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico.
Richard has passed several licensing and professional exams and is a registered agent through the Texas Department of Insurance.
Brian McCaffrey CFP ®, AIF ®
Since 2013, Brian McCaffrey has been dedicated to serving clients across Texas, with a specialization in addressing the unique financial challenges faced by educators and their families. Brian sees himself not just as a financial advisor, but as a teacher, investing time to understand each client's concerns and needs, as well as provide them ongoing support to help reach their goals. His approach involves listening to clients to fully understand their situation, helping them identify and define their goals, making them aware of potential pitfalls, and presenting an effective plan with custom tailored solutions.
In 2020, Brian established McCaffrey Wealth Management in Katy, embracing independence to enhance his ability to provide a more personalized service. This move removed conflicts of interest and quotas, allowed him to offer greater planning flexibility, and access to a broader range of products and investment tools.
In 2024, Brian expanded his impact by partnering with Richard and Texas Retirement Planners. This collaboration has brought a dynamic synergy to their services, further strengthening their ability to deliver comprehensive retirement planning solutions and wealth management services.
Outside of his professional life, Brian cherishes spending time with friends and family, traveling the world to explore history and different cultures. He is a passionate college football fan, particularly of his alma mater, Texas A&M, and enjoys barbecuing and tailgating.
